Biography

Elizabeth, the second wife of Sir Walter Baskerville, knight

Burke stated that Elizabeth was a daughter of Henry ap Milo ap Harry, of Poston, Vowchurch, Herefordshire.[1][2]

However, other sources indicate that Henry ap Milo ap Harry was her brother and that her father was Milo ap Harry:

In the Baskerville pedigree in Duncumb's History, she was referred to as Elizabeth, daughter of Milo ap Henry.[3]

Robinson[4] stated she was Elizabeth, daughter of Milo ap Harry of Poston.

Pedigrees in the Llyfr Baglan compiled between 1600 and 1607[5] noted 'Katherine', daughter of Milo ap Harry ap Griffith, had married Sir Walter Baskerville.

It is possible that her husband was the Sir Walter Baskerville recorded in the Obit Book of Hereford Cathedral :[6] 11 Sep: "Obitus Walteri Baskerevile militis et Katerine consortis sue"

Other evidence also suggesting Elizabeth was the daughter of Milo ap Harry:

The ap Harry pedigree in the Visitation of Herefordshire[7] recorded Henry ap Milo, son of Milo ap Harry, son of Harry ap Griffith, son of Griffith ap Harry. The pedigree has additions from Blakeway's Shropshire Pedigrees which noted that Henry ap Milo had a daughter Elizabeth, but she had married a Thomas Vaughan of Tregunter.

Walter Baskerville was a Supervisor of the will of Milo ap Harry, the will dated 10 Feb 1488.[8]

There is some uncertainty regarding her children with Sir Walter Baskerville. See Sir Walter Baskerville for details.

Her year of death and place of burial are unknown.
