Sir Richard de Baskerville, living 1325

The father of this Sir Richard de Baskerville is presumed to have been a Richard de Baskerville of Eardisely, Herefordshire, who died c 1290.[1] Source or sources to verify that a Richard de Baskerville died c 1290 have yet to be identified.

His father is presumed to have been the Richard de Baskerville who was heir to his brother Walter de Baskerville of Eardisley who died c 1283.[2][3][4][5][6][7]

c. 1290: Petition of Richard de Baskervile , brother of Walter de Baskervile regarding the castle and manor of Eardisley.[8]

06 Feb 1289/1290: Order "to deliver to Richard de Baskervill, brother and heir of Walter de Baskervill, the castle of Erdesleye, which Roger de Clifford the elder, deceased, held of the said Walter for life only, as appears by inspection of the Chancery rolls".[9]

NB However, Coplestone-Crow in his more recent work placed the Richard who married Philippe as the brother of Walter.[10]
