Biography
Philippa de Baskerville was a daughter of Richard de Baskerville of Eardisley and his wife Philippa. The primary evidence for this is a fine by Richard de Baskerville settling the manor of Yazor on Philippa and her husband Philip de Clanvowe in 1318.[1] Yazor had been held by Richard's brother Walter de Baskerville . Following Walter's death his brother and heir Richard came into possession of the Baskerville properties. Walter's widow Sibyl and her new husband John de Acton sued Richard for dower, and part of the dower settlement was Yazor. Sibyl was still living in 1318, so the fine settled that part of Yazor held by Richard de Baskerville on Philippa and her husband, while the part still held by Sibyl as dower would go them following the death of Sibyl.
She married Philip de Clanvowe by 14 May 1318, the date of the fine.
