Biography
The Baskerville Pedigree in Heraldic Illustrations noted that Walter Baskerville was the fourth of the five sons of Sir James Baskerville and Elizabeth Breynton. His brothers were James Baskerville , John Baskerville , Sir Thomas Baskerville , and Humphrey Baskerville .[1]

Walter was noted in the will of his father, the will made on 04 Jan 35 Henry VIII [04 Jan 1543/1544] and proved on 09 Dec 1546.[2]

In the Baskerville Pedigree in the Visitation of Herefordshire it was recorded that Walter Baskerville, 4th son of Sir James Baskerville and Elizabeth Breynton, had married Jane Grevill, widow of Thomas Thame of Stovell, Gloucestershire.[3]

Walter was a beneficiary of the will of his brother Sir James Baskerville, the will made on 18 Aug 1572 and proved on 10 Feb 1573/1574, in which he was described as Walter Baskervile of Staundon upon Wye, Herefordshire.[4] Walter's wife was noted as Sible

In his will made on 20 Jul 1575 and proved on 08 Nov 1575 he was recorded as "Walter Baskervile of Staunton uppon Wie in the countie of Hereforde esquire".[5] His will was to be buried in the high chancel of the parish church of Staunton.

He willed that Thomas Birde, one of the sons of his wife, and Thomas' wife Elinor, should occupy half of Brandigwithye, Kyntley, and Caramiowe, which the Testator held following the death of his brother, Sir James Baskervile knighte, to be held during the life of the Testator's wife, Sibell.

After the death of Sibell, Thomas Birde and his wife Elynor were to receive the remaining years of the Stockinge Lake and the Leynes.

Of the goods etc which came to the Testator from his marriage to Sibell, he willed these to Sibell, requesting that she bestow some part of them to Thomas and Elyanor.

He appointed his wife Sibell as Executrix. His nephew Sir James Whitney knighte, his brother John Baskervile esq. and Richarde Birde gent, one of his wife's sons, were appointed Overseers.
