John Ludwig Johnson was born February 22 1881 near Stockholm, Sweden and passed away January 24, 1968 at a rest home in Osage City. He had attained the age of 86 years, 11 moths and two days.

He was the second child of John P. and Anna L. Johnson. He came to the United States in 1884 to this vicinity where he spent most of his life.

He was united in marriage to Ellen Marie Anderson March 4, 1903, and to this union nine children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife and three children, Mildred, Clayton and Herman. Also his sister Hilma Spicer and brother, Victor M. Johnson.

He was confirmed in the Grace Lutheran Church at an early age, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a retired farmer.

He leaves to mourn his passing one daughter, Mrs. Hazel Hendrickson, five sons, Harold, Elmer, Charles, Bennie, and Floyd, all of Osage City; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday from the Lutheran Church with Rev. Frank Miller officiating.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lundgren sang "The Old Rugged Cross," and "In The Garden," with Mrs. Don Lofgren as accompanist.

Casket bearers were Norman Anderson, Eldon Johnson, Louis Vialle, Clarence Spicer, Leonard Spicer, and Arthur Spicer. Burial was in the Union Cemetery.
