Mrs. Alvera Marie Prost, 72, Osage City, died Monday, March 20, 1989 at an Osage City nursing home.

She was born January 10, 1917, at Osage City, the daughter of Andrew Howard and Agnes Hokanson Woolery, and spent her life in Osage City.

Mrs. Prost was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Osage City.

She was married to Frank Prost December 28, 1933. He died October 24, 1970.

Survivors include four sons, Frank E. Prost and Ronald Prost, both of Carbondale, Wayne Prost, Heber Springs, ArKansas and T/Sgt. Kenneth Prost with the Air Force in Spain; four sisters, Anietta Bowlin and Doris Sherman both of Osage City, Alice Hotchkiss, Emporia, and Helen Schmersey, Cupertino, California; two brothers, Andrew Woolery, Osage City and August Woolery, Lyndon; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Osage City. Burial will be in Osage City Cemetery. Mrs. Prost will lie in state from 2 p.m. Thursday until 11:30 a.m. Friday at Crable Funeral Chapel in Osage City and later until service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Babette Colstrom Liver Transplant Fund or to the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church Handicapped Fund.
