James was born about 1465, the son of Rhys ap Davydd and Elizabeth de Baskerville. The place is not known.
His wife was Ann verch Dafydd. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Ieuan “Gwynne” (c1482->1530).

Biography
According to the Heraldic Visitations of Wales[1] James ap Rhys ap Davydd ap Hywel vain married Elizabeth, daughter of Sir James Baskerville.
