Robert was born about 1555, the son of Thomas Benyon and Elizabeth Lake. The place is not known.
His wife was Anne Owen, who he married in 1588 in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. Their two known children were Thomas (c1590-?) and Nathaniel (c1592-?).

!P: There is an Entry on the Book of the Drapers Company, Shrewsbury, in the year 1588, directing that Robert Beynyon son of Thomas Beynyon, late of Salop, tanner, and late apprentice to Thomas Beynyon, of Salop, draper, shall be admitted as a Freeman of that Company, on condition of his paying to that Company Ten Pounds, and two Shillings for Wine, and on the further condition, that he married his kidress, viz. "Anne Beynyon, widow, the late wyfe of the said Thomas Beynyon his maister." -- All of which conditions, the said Robert "Beynyon" appears to have abided by and performed.
