His wife was Rebecca Biddle, who he married on 19 FEB 1845 in Wayne, Ohio. Their seven known children were Alphan (c1842-?), Tennie (c1844-?), James Parker (1845-?), Samuel Biddle (c1848-?), Winfield Scott (1852-1915), Lorinda Jane (1854-?) and Sarah Elizabeth (1857-1924).
