Hannah was born on 21 JUL 1787 in Hazel Dell, Lawrence, Pa., the daughter of Andrew Ross Nye and Rachael McDonald.

She died on 19 AUG 1854 in Beaver Co., Pennsylvania.

Her husband was Moses Matheny, who she married on 13 FEB 1803. The place has not been found. Their thirteen known children were Joseph (1808-1838), Nancy (1810-1872), Aaron (1811-1855), Rachel (1813-1891), Elizabeth (1815-1896), George (1817-1878), Mahala (1818-1838), Elijah Gad (1820-1904), Amanda (1823-1838), James Parker G (1825-1899), Hannah Lenora (1827-1860), Moses Erskine (1829-1864) and John Deemer (1832-1906).
