George was born in 1834 in Coatbridge, the son of George Jaap and Margaret Adamson.
He died on 3 JUN 1908 in Kirkintilloch.
He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Jean Armour, who he married on 15 SEP 1865 in Kilmarnock. Their seven known children were Elizabeth Armour (1859-1937), Walter (1866-1950), John Armour (1868-1954), Richard (1870-?), Robert Armour (1872-1950), Andrew Armour (1875-?) and James Armour (1878-1942).
His second wife was Margaret McWhinnie, who he married on 13 MAR 1857 in Holytown. Their two known children were George (1857-?) and Helen (1860-?).
