!Notes: The marriage of James Sharp and Jean Taylor in Larbert in October 1846 is not recorded in the marriage registers. It does show in their children's birth records.
!Source: www.scotlandspeople.com Old Parish Birth Records This marriage record is 5 years to late for the earlier children of this family, and the marriage date recorded in their birth records, but it has the proper names, and Alloa is close enough to Larbert to make it very interesting. 1 11 Jul 1851 SHARP JAMES JANE TAYLOR/ M ALLOA 465/00 0007 No Image - There is no evidence, in the Old Parish Records [before 1856] of a second James Sharp and Jane/Jean Taylor having children elsewhere in Scotland, except for the following: 8 27 Oct 1853 SHARP JANE JAMES SHARP/JANE TAYLOR FR1638 F NEW MONKLAND 651/00 006* No Image
!Notes: According to my grandfather's notes, obtained from family members, James Sharp was born 18 Jun 1825, and his parents were Joseph Sharp and Helen. Also, according to these note, his wife was named Jeanie Forsyth Taylor, and she was born 9 Jan 1827, and her parents were Cornelius Taylor and Isabella Forsyth. James and Jeanie's children were listed as: James, Jeanie, Robert and Helen. - I believe this information was handed down to grandpa, and probably contains some truth. For instance, I've noted my files already contain marriages of Graham and Forsyth, while Jean Taylor's mother was actually Isabel Graham. I suspect a little more research will show a connection here. It may well be that Isabella and Jean both used Forsyth for a middle name. Also, the names Joseph Sharp and Helen were definitly in James's ancestry. The dates may still be christening dates. The children's names were even real, except for Robert.
