His wife was Jean Russel, who he married in ABT 1764. The place has not been found. Their seven known children were Peter (c1765-?), Mary (c1766-?), William (c1771-?), Helen (c1773-?), Siciel (c1776-?), Jean (c1778-?) and Daniel (c1780-?).

!Notes: Daniel Sharp's parents. If we have all of Daniel's children, and he used the Scottish naming pattern, then his father should be named Joseph, and his mother's name should be Mary. Since Daniel lived in Clackmannan and Falkirk, those would be the first places we would look.

Clackmannan is still the most likely location. The likely Joseph has his father recorded as Patrick, which is at least similar to Peter. Further research shows that he is recorded as Peter in one of his sons' christening records.
