Notes

Note 1

!StyleName: Hotchkiss, Sir Allan of Cotton [~1518 - ~1563]

!StyleName: Allan Hotchkiss of Cotton

!Note: There has to be a second Allan. There is a will in 1563 and a burial in 1623 both in Wem. There is a record for Isabell’s christening in 1584 and John had to be born around 1580. These two children had to belong to the second Allen who died in 1623. This leaves Richard, George and the second Allan to the first Allan. Note that I don’t actually have anything dating George so it’s really hard to say which Allan he goes with.

[see images attached to William b abt 1505] years estimated. This means everyone on the pedegree was born and/or married by 1634.

Note: Wem to Dodington is 8.8 miles.

Description: In connection with proceedings at a court held at Wem, whether Raffe Kynaston brought in his wife Catherine and made her give up her lands to Allyn Hochekyns when she was unwilling. n.d.

Note: There was a Raffe Kynaston buried 1572 Nannerch, Flintshire, Wales, which could be the one mentioned. This would tend to make this the most likely Allyn. If this Hotchkiss family living in Wem had acquired their local land from Catherine, this Allyn would also be the correct one.
