This site has now been updated for the first time in over a year.It now has 25,583 individuals and 8,348 families in the Genealogical Index. Aside from adding additional lines to my own immediate family, the main portion of the work was making the Scottish portion of the Hotchkiss family as complete as possible. All possible Parish records have been linked to the tree in using data from Scotland's people, as have all records from ancestry.com with Scottish birth, marriage or death records, and associated Census records and necessary Statutory records from Scotland's People. Remaining Statutory records will be random lockups, which cost money and often require ordering paper certificates as they are for recent records or for living people. Enjoy the results, and please send in the resent history of your own lines if you find your links so that the site may be more complete. Thank you.

Looking for my maternal Grandmothers and Grandfathers were information. I found my Grandmother but not anything about the history. She was born to a Turnbull/Black union.
Then married a Harrison. Good info here, thank you.

My grandmother was born Jane M Hotchkiss in England and I am trying to trace my line. Thank you for posting this.

I am revisiting this site for the first time in ten years. I am glad to see that it still survives. Most of my family research has been through The Hotchkiss Family Asoc. and through standard genealogical services. I am posting from California.

I am the second son of Herbert Hotchkiss (1894-1972) and Marjorie Hotchkiss, nee Hood (1912-2005) of Ithaca and Corning NY. Two of my four Hotchkiss siblings are living. I have one son and three grandsons--the Hotchkiss line continues. We are descendants of the Samuel Hotchkiss side of the family, English rather than Scottish, with a trace of Welsh.

My husband is Michael hotchkiss son of Robert hotchkiss . They are from Burlingame kansas. Children of Michael hotchkiss is angela hotchkiss Calvin and Michael hotchkiss Jr. And Francesca hotchkiss.

Hi Some more information re one of the Hotchkiss clan from Polmont (near Falkirk) Stirling. Robert Hotchkiss (Huskie) born 14 Jan 1799, Polmont, Stirlingshire, Scotland to John Hotchkiss and Helen Henderson. Robert m 1826 Mary McDougal and had 3 children. After Mary's death he remarried in 1847 to Amelia (Emily) Kidd, daughter of Alexander Kidd and Emily Roy. Robert attacked Amelia on 17 April 1853 and she died 12 days later on the 29th. Robert was convicted of her murder and sent to Australia. He died on 13 Dec 1857 at the Mt Eliza Convict Depot, Perth, Western Australia
