Note 1
!Note: Robbed and Killed in Kansas. Unmarried. Was in USA at the same time as Peter Ferguson. He was a little fellow [5' 1" and 120 lbs.]. They called him Wee-Willy. He was intelligent, but had a habbit of drinking too much at parties, as the Scotch tend to do, except that he could not handle his drinks, and would become witty and quarrelsome. According to a story related to James A. Hotchkiss by his father, Edward Hotchkiss, Peter Ferguson was swimming with a group of Italian immigrants, who drowned him. Also, Christine Ferguson Hotchkiss once said that he was robbed and killed in Kansas City.
