A gentleman - with no money! In the 1930s, he would on occasion come to Kirkintilloch on the bus, to visit Grandpa Jaap at the shop. Grandpa would bring him home, feed him and he would stay the night, going back home the next morning. He was always very well-dressed. He had an outstanding stamp collection!
