!P: Mary Knight, daughter of Thomas Knight, of the town of Shrewsbury, draper. Bapt. at St.. Alkmond's, Shrewsbury, 21st June, 1618. Married at St.. Julian's, Shrewsbury, 6th May, 1637. Described in her Marriage Settlement as "one of the daughters of Thomas Knight, of the towne of Shresbury, in the county of Salop, gentleman." Her marriage portion was £600.

!P: Mr. Philip Henry, in his Diary, says: --

!P: "1663. April 15. I went to Ash. Uncle Benyon seal'd a feoffment of his lands in Little Ash for portions for his daughters, to mee and cosin John Hotchkis; livery and seisin executed; the deed committed to my custody."

!P: "1663. May 5. My dear Aunt Benyon died. She was daughter to Mr. Knight of Shrewsbury, and had been marry'd about 27 years to my uncle Benyon, by whom she had ishue now living, Daniel, Martha, Mary, Sarah, Elizabeth. Shee was the fittest wife for him in the world, being patient and prudent in opposition to his passion and rashness. Shee was, I verily believe, one that truly feared God, and was taught to do so from her youth."
