Robert was born about 1909 in Skinflats, Bothkennar, Stirlingshire, Scotland, the son of Charles Wilson and Jeanie Ferguson.
His wife was Peggy Creighton, who he married in ABT 1932. The place has not been found. Their four known children were Marjory (c1933-?), May (c1935-?), Elizabeth (c1937-?) and Charles (c1939-?).
