Sarah was born about 1660 in Nansemond, Virginia, the daughter of Thomas Titus but her mother is unknown.

She died after 6 OCT 1729 in Bertie, North Carolina.

Her husband was James Howard, who she married in ABT 1677. The place has not been found. Their eight known children were Soloman (c1600-?), Stephan Edmond (c1696-c1745), Sarah (>1700-<1729), Joseph (c1702-c1777), James (1707-?), Samuel (1707-?), Edward (1709-1745) and John “Lazarus” Edgar (1718-1771).

Based on other life-events, Sarah Titus was likely born between 1770-1780 in Nansemond, Colony of Virginia. Her father was Thomas Titus.[citation needed]

Sarah's maiden name comes from Grant Book 8, pg 178, dated 1743-1793, in Nansemond county, Virginia, where several transactions involving James Howard are recorded, one being that he has married the daughter of Thomas Titus.
