!P: Hazel June Strauss, 88, Topeka, died Monday, Sept. 27, 1993, at a Topeka convalescent center.

!P: Mrs. Strauss had worked at Christ Hospital and the Pennant Cafeteria in Topeka.

!P: She was born July 7, 1905, at Burlingame, one of 12 children of Irving E. and Mary E. Washington Meggison. She had lived in Burlingame and Carbondale before she moved to Topeka.

!P: Mrs. Strauss was a member of St.. John's Lutheran Church.

!P: She was married to Charles H. Strauss in 1937 in Salina. He died Sept. 22, 1957.

!P: Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Oliver and Mildred M. Packard, both of Topeka; and three brothers, Raymond Meggison, Mayetta, and Dean Meggison and Virgil Meggison, both of Topeka.

!P: Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Parker-Price Mortuary. Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery. Mrs. Strauss will lie in state after 8 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary where family and friends will meet from 7 until 8 p.m. today.
