His second wife was Jane Fletcher. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their seven known children were Mathew (c1565-<1646), Richard (c1566-c1648), Miss (c1568-?), William (c1573-?), Anna (c1576-c1577), Charles (c1577-c1628) and Humphry (c1578-?).

His third wife was Margerie, who he married in ABT 1578. The place has not been found. Their six known children were Margaret (c1579-?), Anna (c1581-c1581), John (c1582-c1582), Katherine (c1585-?), Maria (c1587-?) and John (c1589-?).

The surrounding area has a Bursley Way, a Bursley Road, and a Bursley Ale House and a fast food place called the bursley burslem.

Apparently author Arnold Bennet [1867 - 1931] called Buslem Bersley. It may be that place name was a bit more than his imagination.

It is in Staffordshire, but near Cheshire.
