Poem "The Day" by Sara Marie Ufford In Loving Memory of Aunt Gail

"The Day" Above in the sky so blue, beautiful white doves fly two by two.

The clouds so white, rise in the sky to an amazing height.

In the wind the tall trees sway, it is the dawning of a new day.

Yonder the farmer milks his cow for cream, while the dog lays sleepily with his dream.

In complete splendor I absorb the sun, while through the meadow field I run.

I feel as free as the dove, full of joy, cheer and love.

In the fresh scented tulips I bury my nose, while in the grass I wiggle my toes.

I breath the sweet air, and taste a wild pear.

I cherish life, so rich, listening to the doves' high pitch.

It is the dawning of a new day, for GOD chose to take you away.
