Robert was born about 1373, the son of William “Cydrych” Hotchkiss but his mother is unknown. The place is not known.
His wife is not known. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Robert (c1404->1471) and William (c1406-?).

!Note: Robert, John, and Hugh’s father, William Hotchkiss of Hawkeswood [~1347 - ] owned property in Mawdesley, Croston, Lancashire. Date prior to 20 Dec 1372 and must have done other business nearby such that his sons were introduced to the place. He may have gone to York to pickup the name Hodgkinson, and later brought his sons there as well.
