In the name of God Amen: the xij day of June in the yere of our Lord God 1554
in the first year of the reign of our most gracious sovereign lady Queen Mary,
I Alice Hopkys, whole of mind and sick in body, make this my last will and testament
in form following: First I bequeath my soul to almighty God and my body to be buried
in the churchyard of all saints in Walsall.
First I bequeath to Elinor Stone my smock, my kirtle, my petycote, my kerchief,
and also I give to Alice Harbborne my best mattres and I give to Susan my doughter
all my lynnyn and also I give to the said Susan my flocke bed and to her iii shetes,
and I give and bequeath to Edward Hopkyns my tenement during the said term to lyve in,
and I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Grenes my worst coote and to Alice Taylor my worst kercher...
...and I make and ordain my said daughter Susan my sole executrix,
and I desire and will that Thomas Clerke shall be supervisor of this my testament
and he to have for his pains two shillings.
