Said to have arrived on an immigrant ship in 1636 at Charles River County , Virginia. The name of the ship has not been located and the exact date is unconfirmed. The only confirmed date is the recording of the grant for his headright in 1637. His arrival could have been several years earlier.

This was the second son that William *the father* named William. He arrived in Virginia in 1636. He left his family in England when he came to Virginia. Death & Legacy
William Hawkins, of the parish and County of York, wrote his will on 24 March 1654/5 and it was recorded 25 June 1655 at parish and County of York. Abstract:
Very sick and weak.
Right much religious preamble.
To be buried at descretion of wife Sarah Hawkins. Whole estate to her. After her decease all to "my sonn in law Argall Blackstone".
After wife's death Argall Blackstone to give the Churchwardens of York parish 1500 lb tobo for "a silver Flaggon bought with the produce". "which Flaggon to be and remaine to and for the use of the Inhabitants of York Parrish in the Church belonging thereto att Sacraments and other necessarie times and occasions"
To John Wright son of Edward Wright a heifer.
Signed: The mark of William WH Hawkins
Wit: John x Humphreyes, Jer: Hope[9]
It is generally presumed that Argall Blackstone was the husband of William's daughter Alice Margaret and that John Wright was married to daughter Sarah Hawkins. These relationships are unconfirmed.
-
From references in the Timeline to William's guardianship of Argall Blackstone, it appears that Argall/Argyle Blackstone may have been a stepson and not son-in-law, since the term son-in-law could apply to either relationship at that time.[10]
-
It does appear from the fact they are not included in the abstract of his will that William's sons Thomas and John did not survive him.

Note: Leaving everything to his wife, and then to two sons-in-law, is a very strong indicator that he had *no sons*.
