Note 1
!Notes: Henry’s father Captain John’s [1454-~1506] will registration was dated 1501 in Hertfordshire. As his probably youngest son, this is a likely place for Henry to be. Thus I am estimating his birth based on marriage in 1506 to be 1486. He likely lived near his father when he was older, even when his father joined the church in his old age.

history
A deed dated 8 February, 1554,* states that "Henry Hawkins clerk** [in orders], recently of Plymouth, brother and heir of William Hawkins Merchant recently deceased, for a sum of money gives up land in Plymouth to William Hawkins son of Joan Trelawny."
[Notes from Wiliam show this is incorrect as William was still recorded sailing his ship. Guessing this to actually be 1559].
-
Undoubtedly a younger son, and a cleric - and since he would have taken Holy Orders before the Reformation hit England, probably Catholic and therefore [supposedly] celibate.

Note: This birthdate is unsourced and thus a best guess estimate based only on the death date.
Note: “Henry Hawkins clerk”, even though I can’t find that actual record, does not necessarily imply orders. He could have been a legal or merchant clerk. If he is married he is not in orders.
