Biography

Elizabeth Baskerville was a daughter of Humphrey Baskerville and Jane Pakington.[1]

Elizabeth was baptised on 16 May 1544 at St Lawrence Jewry, City of London, daughter of Humphrey Baskerfild.[2]

She married Henry Hungate, son of William Hungate and Audrey Saltmarsh.[1][3][4] Elyzabeth Baskerfeld of St Michael Bassishaw married Henry Hungat of St Stephen Coleman Street on 14 Jul 1563 at St Michael Bassishaw, City of London.[5]

Her husband Henry Hungate was recorded in the will of her father Humphrey Baskerville in 1564.[6] Elizabeth herself was not mentioned.

Probable children:

William Hungate[4]

Leonell Hungate [7]

Anne Hungate [7]

Martha Hungatt [7][8]

Humfrey Hungate [7][9]

Elizabeth Hungate [7][10]

Thomas Hungate[4][11] [7]

John Hungatt [7][12]

Robert Hungate[11] [7][13]

Harry Hungate [7]

It is presumed the following is the will of her husband:

-

The will of a Henrie Hungate late of London, mercer, was dated 12 Nov 1586 and proved 01 Mar 1586/1587.[11] He made bequests to his wife and children and his brother Robert Hungate. His wife and his sons Thomas and Robert were named as Executors. His brother in law Thomas Cowenge of Lincoln's Inn, Esq., and "Robert Hungate of the same howse my Nephewe", were nominated as Supervisors. Probate was granted to his widow Elizabethe Hungate. NB The link with Thomas Cowenge of Lincoln's Inn is as yet unclear.

-

Elizabeth was a beneficiary of the will of her mother Dame Jane Duckett, in 1590.[14] In the will she was recorded as Elizabeth Harte.
