Biography
Gwen ferch Thomas ap Rhys ap Morus of Aberbechan, Newtown, Montgomeryshire, born about 1562, married Richard Pryse of Gogerddan, Llanbadarnfawr, Cardiganshire, oldest son of John Pryse by his first wife, Elizabeth Perrot.[1]

Her husband's biographies describe her as a "Montgomeryshire heiress" and note that his marriage to her "extended his interests into that shire, and he added to his estate lands and mills near his wife’s home at Newtown." He served as sheriff of Montgomeryshire in 1590-1, but "his principal focus was Cardiganshire."[1]

Their son Sir John Pryse "of Aberbechan" married Mary ferch Sir Henry Bromley, Knt. John and Mary's son Sir Richard Price, Knt. married Ester ferch Hugh Middleton; John and Mary's daughter Mary married James Jones.[2]

Children: By one account, Richard and Gwen had two sons and five daughters.[1] By another, he had four sons and six daughters .[3] The following children and information are listed in the table for "Gwehelyth Richard Prys o Gogerddan" , Visitations of Wales. Also in the table is a son of Richard's named William who is not Gwen's son .[4]
