Biography
Joan Brugge was a daughter of John Brugge of Staunton, Herefordshire.[1][2][3][4][5]
Her mother may have been Joan, daughter of Philip de la Hay of Archenfield/Irchenfield[3][5][6] or Joan, daughter of Philip de la More[1] or Joan, daughter of Philip Delamere of Urchenfield.[4]
Joan's year of birth is unknown and is estimated as c 1390.
She has been recorded in a number of pedigrees as 'Elizabeth' Brugge[7][8][9][10][11][12][13] but this appears to be an error and the only primary source[2] indicates her name was Joan, as does the Visitation of Worcester.[14]
The Inquisition Post Mortem of her father John Brugges Esq. indicated that he died on 30 September 1436. John Baskerville, knight, was his kin and next heir, viz., son of Joan, daughter of John Brugge , and is aged 24 years and more.[2]
She married Sir John Baskerville of Eardisley, Herefordshire.[2][4][5][12][14]
Children of Joan and Sir John Baskerville:
Sir John Baskerville [8][12][14]
Ralph Baskerville [7][8][12][14]
