Margaret was born in 1635 in England, the daughter of Sylvanus Gilpin but her mother is unknown.

She died in 1679 in Maryland.

Her husband was Thomas Wharton, who she married in 1648. The place has not been found. Their only known child was Francis (>1648-1700).
