He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Eliza Embree, who he married on 14 NOV 1867. The place has not been found. Their six known children were James Edgar (1868-1969), Frank Wheeler (1870-1957), Cora Charlotte (1874-1952), Joseph Ross (1878-1964), Mary Agnes (c1878-1963) and Myrltle (c1888-?).
His second wife was Anna B. Miller, who he married on 3 NOV 1895. The place has not been found. They had no known children.
