He had been in ill health for nine years and death was due to rheumatism and leakage of the heart. - Daniel was born on a the family farm [5804 Prairie Road-Rockford Illinois] just south of the city. He was the son of James and Hannah Kennedy. He followed in agriculture as his pursuit and worked on farms in Winnebago County, until forced to retire by physical weakness. - Daniel married Margaret Foster Prentice. They lived on a farm in Winnebago County. They had no children. Hannah Kennedy [wife of James Flynn] and Mary Kennedy [wife of Fredrick Whelan] resided with their brother and cared for him during his poor health. - He is buried in the James and Hannah plot in St..
