Their six known children were Preston Connell (1905-1984), Audrey M. (c1908-?), James Porter (c1910-c1920), Imogene (c1912-?), Edward Lewis (1914-1966) and Clarad Elbert (c1916-c1916).
His second wife was Nellie Rae Fields, who he married on 12 SEP 1917. The place has not been found. Their three known children were J. W. (1918-1918), Francis Rae (1920-?) and Barbara Lou (1924-1973).

!Notes: When he was fourteen years old, he moved with his parents to Reading, Kansas. His name, and his wife's are inscribed on the large Hyde monument at the Reading Cemetery, along with James Eber Hyde, Rebecca Stevens Lamb, Thomas Preston Hyde, Clarad Elbert Hyde, James Porter Hyde, and J. W. Hyde.
