!Notes: WILLIAM PATERSON reputed father on Ann's death cert. in 1906 and ISABELLA KELLAS unmarriedChildren: 1. Ann Paterson b.c.1829 Aberdeen illegitimate. 2. Elizabeth Allardyce b.c.1833 Banff. In 1851 Elizabeth stated that she was the unmarried sister of Alex and James. In 1871 she stated she was the sister of Ann. 3. Alex Yeats b.c.1848 Banff ; Father JAMES YEATS, Mother ANN CHRISTIE 4. James Yeats b.c.1848 Banff ; Father JAMES YEATS, Mother ANN CHRISTIEThis little family group is one of the most confusing I [Tom Paterson] have come accross in my research not helped by the two generations of illegitimacy and the fact that Paterson is a very common name in the Banff area. The relationships above all hang around the fact that Elizabeth stated on the 1871 census that she was Ann's sister. The information on Alex and James's parents is only very recent and has to be double checked. It only adds to the mystery.
