!P: Funeral services for Mrs. John Vandevord, 75, were held in the Burlingame Methodist church on Sunday afternoon, July 7, at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. H. Zimmerman. Hymns were sung by Fred Cones and Harry Harkness, , accompanied by Mrs. W. G. Beale on the organ. Burial was in the Burlingame cemetery.

!P: Mrs. Vandevord's death due to a heart attack, occured Friday morning at her home and that of her daughter, Mrs. Edith Zucci northeast of Burlingame.

!P: Sarah Washington, oldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Washington, was born July 22, 1871 at Congleton, Cheshire England. In early childhood she came to America with her parents, and to this locality where she spent the remainder of her life.

!P: She was united in marriage to John Vandevord of Burlingame in 1893, who preceded her in death in 1924.

!P: Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Edith Zucci of Burlingame and Mrs. Pearl Terry of Topeka, three sons, Clifford, Ralph and Roy Vandevord all of Burlingame; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

!P: Also surviving are seven sisters, Mrs. Emma Beeson and Mrs. Mary Meggison, Topeka, Mrs. Nellie Hothckiss and Mrs. Martha Brukett, Burlingame; Mrs. Anna Hagge, Chicago and Mrs. Arti Kilgore and Mrs. Ada Gimm, Davenport, Iowa; and three brothers, Thomas Washington, Denver, Arthur Washington, Los Angeles, and William Washington, Norborne, Mo.

!P: Out of town relatives here for the funeral included Mrs. Anna Hagge of Chicago, Mrs. Emma Beeson of Topeka, Wm. Washington of Norborne, Mo. and Thomas Washington of Denver; also Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vandevord from Illinois, Mrs. Stanley Fender from Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Croucher of Peterton; from Topeka, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Perry and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
