!P: NELIGH, Neb.-Services for George W. Hoggins, 84, Neligh, Neb., were Sunday at the United Methodist Church, Neligh, Neb. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

!P: Mr. Hoggins died Tues., March 1, 1994, at the Neligh Nursing Home.

!P: He was born Feb. 13, 1910, at Burlingame, the son of Frank and Ester Hotchkiss Hoggins. At age 16, he moved to Missouri and was employed at Edward Aaron Inc. of Kansas City and Carthage Ice and Cold Storage.

!P: On Sept. 21, 1929, he married Dorothy Mitchell at Burlingame. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

!P: He and his wife moved to Nebraska in 1948, where he owned and operated Neligh Produce for many years. He worked for seven years for Blackburn Manufacturing Co., retiring in 1979. Mr. Hoggins then worked at Hoepfinger-Beyer Funeral Home part-time.

!P: He was a member of the United Methodist Church and chairman of its administrative board, board of trustees and memorial committee.

!P: He was a past Neligh City Council Member. He was on the Chamber of Commerce board and past president of the Neligh Rotary Club. He was a member of Diamond Masonic Lodge 291 of Orchard.

!P: Survivors include a son, Vicotr of Crete; daughters, Mrs. Arlie [Doris] Dicknite of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Dale [Phyllis] Ames of Norfolk; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jennie Stone of Lamar, Mo., and Betty Dunn, Burlingame. --
