Charles was born about 1912 in Scotland, the son of Cornelius Cowan and Elizabeth Taylor Wilson.
His wife was Elizabeth McQuade, who he married in ABT 1933. The place has not been found. Their three known children were Cornelius (c1934-?), Janice (c1936-?) and Elizabeth (c1938-?).
