He died before 1870 in Menard, Illinois.
His wife was Mary “Polly” Lyons, who he married on 17 JAN 1816 in Virginia, United States. Their eleven known children were Thomas (1814-?), John B (1816-1904), William (1817-1851), Phoebe (1821-1899), John (1825-?), Nancy (1827-1881), Francis (1828-1913), Susanna (1832-1926), Pleasant L (1835-1864), George (1836-?) and Mary Jane (1837-?).
