Mary was born in 1709 in Concord Township, Chester Pennsylvania, the daughter of Vincent Caldwell and Elizabeth.
She died about 1781 in Christana, New Castle, Delaware.
She had two marriages/partners. Her first husband was Joseph Gilpin, who she married on 17 DEC 1729 in Concord Meeting, Delaware County, Pensylvania. Their twelve known children were Sarah (1730-1814), Ruth (1730-1781), Vincent (1732-1810), Orpha (1734-1806), Gideon (1738-1825), Israel (1740-1834), Betty (1742-1774), William (1744-1788), Hannah (1746-1823), Joseph (1748-1826), Thomas (1750-1802) and Mary (1752-1821).
Her second husband is not known. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Nun (1736-?).
