Archibald was born on 26 MAY 1857 in Damascus, Syria, the son of Robert James Dodds and Letitia Margaret.
He died on 27 OCT 1885 in Ship Wreck off Coast of Malpica, Spain.
His wife was Emma Matilda Mizpah Metheny, who he married on 26 SEP 1882 in Kessab, Syria. Their only known child was Wilson James (1883-1886).
