His second wife was Janet Calder, who he married on 9 FEB 1823 in Larbert, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Their seven known children were Janet (c1821-?), Mary (c1823-?), Euphemia (c1826-?), Isobella Brown (c1828-?), Helen (c1832-?), Alexander (c1833-?) and John (c1838-?).
