Mary was born about 1886 in Great Bridge, Staffordshire, England, the daughter of Samuel Brook Hotchkiss and Mary Ann Small.
Her husband was Arthur Brooks. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Ethel (c1911-1967) and Samuel (1909-1987).
