Simeon was born about 1838 in Staffordshire, England, the son of Thomas Hampton and Elizabeth Hodgetts.
His wife was Sarah Golding. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Rebecca (c1867-?) and Mary A (c1868-?).
