His wife was Mary Brisco Hampton. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their nine known children were John Thomas (c1867-?), Mary Ann Elizabeth (c1869-?), William H (c1874-?), Sarah (c1877-?), Daniel (c1879-?), Charles (c1882-?), Joseph (c1884-?), Frances Alice (1886-1977) and Edwin (c1889-?).
