!Notes: Understanding Isabelle's ancestry is very confusing. She is listed as a niece of Mary Isabella [Jahn] Miller. She is listed as the sister of George and Roy Trebbe. Census records show her as the daughter of Henry and Emma Jahn. Her very name is given as Isabelle Jahn Trebbe. The Trebbe children were apparently all born in or after 1910. Her birth was in 1902, when Henry and Emma/Isabell were already 48 and 49 years of age. The Trebbe children are listed with parents being William Trebbe and Gertrude Little Trebbe. Notes also show William Trebbe, with the exact same list of children married to Thelma Croucher and Emma Jahn.

Viewing the 1910 US Census finally solved the riddle. It lists Isabelle Trebbe as grandaughter to John Henry and Isabella. If she is a Trebbe she is Emma’s daughter. So, Emma had her when she was about 13, and her grandparents raised her with their other children. Emma eventually married Isabelle Trebb’s father.

When Isabelle grew up and moved to California with her husband she remained close to both the Jahns and the Trebbs, visiting often with her aunts who also lived in California, as well as her husbands relatives who lived in the area.

Thelma Croucher and Gertrude Little may have been the same person, as Thelma Croucher is also listed as a sister to Roy Little. So purhaps Thelma was previously married to a Croucher.
