Henry was born in 1807 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the son of Elkanah Finney and Lucy Morton.

He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Betsey Langford, who he married on 18 DEC 1828 in Plymouth, Massachusetts. They had no known children.

His second wife was Adeline Howland, who he married in ABT 1836. The place has not been found. Their two known children were Adeline Howland (1837-?) and Henry Allerton (c1839-?).
