Isaac was born on 26 AUG 1734 in Barnstable, Massachusetts, the son of Thomas Phinney and Reliance Goodspeed.

He died in Nova Scotia, Canada. The date is not known.

He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Desire Stuart, who he married on 16 MAY 1757 in Barnstable, Massachusetts. Their only known child was Levi (1758-1759).

His second wife was Ann Thomas, who he married on 12 MAR 1763. The place has not been found. Their seven known children were Mehitable (1764-?), Thomas (1765-1845), Lot (1766-1851), Levi (1769-1821), Abigail (1771-?), Elijah (1773-?) and Desiah (1776-1796).
