My great=grandmother was Jane McDougal Hotchkies from Bothkennar Parish. She married Archibald Reid around 1879. They lived in Falkirk and had one son, John Reid. Jane Hotchkies died in November 1924 or thereabouts and is buried in Falkirk Cemetery. John Reid married Jessie Bennie around 1910. Their first child, Jessie Reid, is my mother. Jane Hotchkies had a sister, Janet. I discovered from your website that Janet married Alexander Shaw and lived in Motherwell.

I suspect that Cornelius Hotchkies moved to Scotland from Shropshire because the Carron Iron Works were set up in 1759 or 1760. They were the biggest iron works in Europe at that time and consumed huge amounts of coal and iron ore.

My great great grandmother was Annie Hotchkiss who married into the Wilson family. They gave birth to David Wilson who is my great grandfather and my mother's grandfather. David Wilson married Alison Anderson and they gave birth to Alice Joyce Wilson who is my grandmother.

My maternal grandmother was Asenath Hannah Hotchkiss daughter of Joseph Hotchkiss b.1861 at Wentnor, Shropshire. We have traced our family back to Thomas Hotchkiss who married Margaret Bright at Norbury, Shropshire in 1625.

Hope to find some Ancestors here. My Father Is Bruce Robert Hotchkiss from Toronto. His Father I think was Robert Hotchkiss, married to Thelma (don't know her last name). My grandmother's name was christina (sometimes Christine) hotchkiss. She was married to Leo H. Connors Sr. in either Kansas or Illinois. I live in NW Arkansas and just thought it would be interesting to see if I could find some relatives.
