Lived most of her life in Rockford. - Married John Edward Kennedy in Rockford, June 7, 1941. Longtime member St. Marys Catholic Church; also member Senior Activity Center, American Association of Retired Persons, and Winnebago County Farm Bureau. - Rockford Register Star Wedding Article: 1941 - Mr. and Mrs. Halbert T. Wicks, 2304 School Street, announce the marriage on Saturday of their daughter Vivian, to John Edward Kennedy son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Kennedy, of Prairie Road. - The ceremony was solemnized in St. Mary's catholic Church at 8 a.m. - For her wedding, the bride had a white orchid pinned to the shoulder of here street-length powder blue frock. Her beige hat was trimmed with a blue veil, and she had beige accessories and a pearl necklace. - As bridesmaid for her new sister-in-law. Miss Clara Kennedy wore a rose frock with matching accessories and a shoulder bouquet of roses. Frank Govern was best man. - Mrs. Wicks wore an aqua ensemble with black accessories, and both she and the bridegroom's mother, who wore navy sheer, had corsage bouquets of gardenias. - There was a reception for members of the two immediate families in Schrom's French Room. A miniature bride and groom topped a two tiered wedding cake, and the table was decorated with flowers and candles. - The new Mrs. Kennedy wore a rusty rose suit with navy accessories when she and her groom left on a short honeymoon trip. They will reside here. - Saturday's bride, a Rockford High School graduate, attended Brown's Business College, and has been employed by the Rockford Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Kennedy a St.. Thomas graduate, is employed with the Railway Express agency.
